March 30th, 2008

It is not always financially feasible to send qualified men and women to the training seminars they need when they occur in different cities or states.  The 2008 Safety WebExpo and Conference has been created for just such professionals in these situations.  The online conference will take place Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 9am – 5pm ET.  Attendees can watch webcasts and even attend a trade show all from the comfort of their office.

March 29th, 2008

The ultraviolet flashlight is a great way to identify counterfeit bills or credit cards. True and legitimate money bills and credit cards have ultraviolet marks that will glow. In money notes, the bill will glow under ultraviolet lights if it authentic.  What I until recently didn’t know was that different bills will actually glow different colors.

LED Flashlights Made Simple

March 27th, 2008

For those unfamiliar with what a LED flashlight, here’s a quick tutorial.  Flashlights using light emitting diodes (LEDs) use bulbs that are essentially semiconductors that directly convert electricity into light. These differ from other light sources which use liquids like mercury or gasses like neon to convert the electricity to light. Because of this elimination of the “middle man” the light that emits from a white LED light is far more powerful than a traditional flashlight source. Additionally, such a light is not a drain on a battery and can last A LOT longer than a traditional flashlight. This is why you here people talk, including myself, about how cost and energy efficient this technology really is.  This kind of efficiency and brightness is why LED flashlights have become the number one choice of military, law enforcement and emergency personnel.
