The Power of the White Light LED Bulb

For some, there may be questions as to whether or not certain bulbs are better than others or if there is a difference between them at all. This is understandable as the average consumer may not exactly be all that sure of the various differences between bulbs or even care. While there are many excellent flashlight bulbs on the market one of the very best would be the white light LED bulb. These types of flashlight bulbs are incredibly important for those who work in the dark of night where the need for a deeply illuminating flashlight is critical.

High Powered LED Bulbs Last Longer

There are a number of benefits to a high powered LED not the least of which being the fact that they can illuminate an area that is a significant distance away from the flashlight. However, there are a number of other benefits that these flashlights offer with one of the most important being the cost saving effectiveness of the LED bulb’s shelf life.

Don’t Sacrifice Quality With A Cheap LED Flashlight

There are tradeoffs in life.  When you purchase a cheap flashlight you are taking the risk that the flashlight may not illuminate an area to the degree that is sufficient, potentially compromising your safety. As such, it is best to avoid trying to save a few dollars with a cheap flashlight and instead stick with a professional grade LED flashlight. Now, this is not to imply that all LED flashlights cost a fortune. Many can, in fact, be acquired at a very reasonable price. But you will not find too many $3.99 LED flashlights that can handle the rigors of a demanding job. Cheap LED lights tend to produce less lumens or illumination, meaning they do not have as strong of a light beam.  Higher priced LED flashlights are so because they use a higher grade LED light bulb that can be counted on to produce a bright light.

LED Inventor, Nick Holonyak, Honored In US National Inventory Hall of Fame

The man that made the power and energy-efficiency of LED technology accessible to the masses will be honored this May by the US National Inventors Hall of Fame.  Nick Holonyak is credited with developing the modern day LED, the innovative bulb that can be used and improved upon for applications in the areas of outdoor equipment, professional and military light torches, vehicle lamps, video displays and household lighting.  Holonyak invented the modern-day light-emitting diode while working at General Electric. This key lighting invention kick-started Nick’s long career of technology invention and advancement in the areas of physics, lasers, and semiconductors.  His contribution to the history of LED technology is one of the most significant because of its contribution to the brightness of the light itself and the energy efficiency at which it can be run.
