2008 Safety WebExpo and Conference

For most precincts and response teams, funding training for officers and staff is hard to do. It is not always financially feasible to send qualified men and women to the training seminars they need when they occur in different cities or states.  The 2008 Safety WebExpo and Conference has been created for just such professionals in these situations.  The online conference will take place Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 9am – 5pm ET.  Attendees can watch webcasts and even attend a trade show all from the comfort of their office.

Know Your Counterfeits | Different Bills Glow Different Colors Under Ultraviolet Light

The ultraviolet flashlight is a great way to identify counterfeit bills or credit cards. True and legitimate money bills and credit cards have ultraviolet marks that will glow. In money notes, the bill will glow under ultraviolet lights if it authentic.  What I until recently didn’t know was that different bills will actually glow different colors.

New $5 Bill Safer and More Secure

The new U.S. $5.00 Bill was put into circulation on March 13, 2008.  The US Treasury updated the bill to make it safer and more secure than its predecessor.  These new bills are harder to fake and much easier for store owners, banks and the government to check for authenticity.

Catch Counterfeits With A Ultraviolet Flashlight

In December 2007, over $1.1 million in counterfeit $100 bills were seized from a home in Tonala near Guadalajara. Authorities were working on tracking down these thieves since 2005 after fake $100 bills were showing up all over southern California. 12 counterfeiters were arrested during the raid.

Ultraviolet Flashlights | ID At The Door

An ultraviolet flashlight is an outright essential for those professionals that check the validity of documents and property. If you work to secure entry to a building and require photo identification of any visitor it is critical to be able to tell whether or not the photo ID is real. Since most photo identifications have watermarks that are visible under ultraviolet light, the use of an ultraviolet flashlight can weed out the frauds in an effort to maintain the safety of personnel in the building.
