LED Flashlights Made Simple
For those unfamiliar with what a LED flashlight, here’s a quick tutorial. Flashlights using light emitting diodes (LEDs) use bulbs that are essentially semiconductors that directly convert electricity into light. These differ from other light sources which use liquids like mercury or gasses like neon to convert the electricity to light. Because of this elimination of the “middle man” the light that emits from a white LED light is far more powerful than a traditional flashlight source. Additionally, such a light is not a drain on a battery and can last A LOT longer than a traditional flashlight. This is why you here people talk, including myself, about how cost and energy efficient this technology really is. This kind of efficiency and brightness is why LED flashlights have become the number one choice of military, law enforcement and emergency personnel.
