Durability in a military flashlight first and foremost means that it can be dropped, shaken or other wise beat-up with little or no effect on its performance. Lights made for military purpose are put through the tests needed to ensure that these lights will not fail or fall apart when they are needed. Durability in these flashlights also means that they are often times very water-resistant. The same sturdy encasements that make them unbreakable, also make them water-impermeable. Those in law enforcement, the military and emergency services have to work in the rain or in flooded conditions, depending on their location, and the need for a flashlight that will not malfunction when wet is critical.

When Cree says it is leading the LED lighting revolution it is not kidding.
The term “lost in the wilderness” is often employed as a colloquial expression to describe someone who is completely out of his or her element. The phrase is derived from the simple truth that people literally DO become lost in the wilderness on a regular basis for a number of reasons. Whether an experienced outdoorsman or a casual camper, getting lost is a reality. Preparation and education are therefore necessary and vital.
No matter how much we try to avoid accidents – they happen. As such, you can grip your flashlight as tight as possible but there will always be the potential that it slips out of your hand and lands on a rock, granite floor or some other hard surface. A lesser made flashlight will crack, possibly even be damaged beyond repair, and the bulb may break. This is why it is important to have a flashlight that is built to last.
