Not all flashlights have the same use or function. Sure, flashlights are designed to illuminate a particular area but when you get into the complexity of law enforcement flashlights you add a number of additional dimensions and potential needs. For example, did you know that certain LED flashlights designed to aid in navigation? There are also law enforcement LED flashlights that come with a searchlight or flood beam function, an important feature for illuminating and canvassing a large area. Other law enforcement flashlights possess particular tactical uses like strobe lighting for emergency notifications or stunning. Because of this it is important to identify your or your officers’ needs and then find the appropriate flashlight or set of lights that can deliver on those needs.

Today much has been revealed about the use of excessive force and wrongful deaths associated it. Law enforcement is under heavy scrutiny to account for their every action in all number of combatant situations.  New tools are being developed now to give officers more non-violent restraining options for securing a criminal or calming a crowd. Things like strobing LED flashlights and pepper sprays are part of these new solutions.

As much as we would prefer not to think about it there will be instances where a police officer will have a confrontation with a dangerous and belligerent adversary. In real life – unlike in the movies – a police officer can not act like a cowboy and respond in a violent manner. However, the officer does need to maintain his or her safety and this is where a pepper spray LED flashlight comes into play. This type of a flashlight is a fully functional flashlight that serves the primary purposes that a flashlight is supposed to provide: it emits a powerful beam of light. But, it also contains a compartment for pepper spray that can be used offensively against an assailant and, hopefully, will incapacitate the assailant so that the situation does not get out of hand. While some may assume that pepper spray is a dangerous weapon it actually has little in terms of lingering affect and provides a safe way out of a bad situation.

Sometimes we overlook the police gear that is actually of incredible importance.  When it comes to law enforcement gear, the average person thinks of the uniform, weapons and bullets, bulletproof vests, and handcuffs. There are other items that are important parts of law enforcement gear that are just as vital for keeping the officer safe and improving their ability to capture a criminal. One of the most important items would be a LED flashlight.

You Don’t Need to Be a Pro to Own a Professional Grade LED Flashlight

When people see the word professional associated with LED flashlights they sometimes erroneously assume that this means that only someone in a particular field needs to own one. While it is true that certain personnel (law enforcement, emergency rescue, etc) rely on these types of flashlights this should be an endorsement that the flashlights are beneficial to everyone and not that they are exclusionary to a particular profession. After all, if you are looking for a reliable flashlight for use strictly in the home in case of an emergency you will definitely benefit from purchasing a top of the line LED flashlight.  In the same way, hunters or hikers need to know that their equipment can withstand extreme weather conditions, potential long-hours of use, or being dropped. A flashlight made for the military or police officers can give that assurance.
