The Non-Traditional LED lantern
If there was one item that was probably the singular most recognizable visual symbol for camping it would be the classic image of a lantern. Now, in the “old days”, lanterns operated on oil or kerosene. While such lanterns are still produced this very day there is also the safer and more cost effective option of a battery operated lantern. The evolution of the camping lantern did not stop with batteries, however. Now campers are more and more relying on the power and efficiency of LED lanterns.
The clearest benefit of an LED lantern is its sharp, bright light that, with a simple click of a button or flip of a switch, is instantly available. These lamps also have the LED bulb long life one would expect from any high quality LED light. Some LED lanterns can run upwards of a full WEEK without the need to change batteries. When camping, that sort of confidence in a light source is unmatched by any other lantern available.
